Bounce Back

Mastering the Art of Falls and Recovery

There are many fall prevention classes that teach you to stay off the ground. This class actually prepares you for the inevitable falls you may take because of leg instability or weakness, tripping over sidewalks or your cat, medications, poor vision, and a host of other things!

Bounce Back uses techniques from dance, martial arts, and contact improvisation to get you to the ground and back up again safely and with confidence.

Are you afraid of falling?

If you trip, if you don’t pick up your feet as you walk, you may have seen the ground faster and harder than you intended. To take the terror and danger out of falling, you need to learn HOW TO BALANCE and how to FALL.

The statistics say it all: 1 in 4 people over 65 fall each year, and once they have fallen, they are more likely to fall again. Studies show that up to 50% of elderly individuals who remain on the floor for an hour after a fall may die within six months, even if they did not sustain an injury in the fall.  This is primarily due to complications like pressure sores, dehydration, hypothermia, and potential complications from prolonged immobility. A great Chinese martial arts master once said, “Gravity never fails and the earthnever misses.”

BOUNCE BACK: Mastering the Art of Falls and Recovery, is our latest program.
